John Kouphou, Executive Head Chef at the Hurlingham Club has had an outstanding and diverse career working in Europe, the UK & the Middle East, were he has overseen restaurants in hotels and resorts. John is now responsible for the kitchens across the all areas of the Hurlingham Club, a leading private members club in Fulham, London. John inspires a passion for food and a commitment to quality, the foundations to delivering exemplary cuisine at every opportunity.
John’s previous experience includes Executive Chef at the world-renowned Wentworth Club in Surrey, where he oversaw the members culinary experience as well as the annual BMW PGA Golf tournament. He was also part of the opening team of Atlantis the Palm in Dubai and the Sir Nick Faldo Golf Resort, Elea Estate in Cyprus. In both positions he was integral to the day-to-day culinary operations, which also included in both cases the pre-opening and subsequent running of the operations. He was responsible for developing the enhancement of the culinary journey of both members and guests, as well as providing essential input into the concept, design and planning for the new restaurants–developing and implementing menus and tasting.
John has also had a glamourous career, where he personally cooked for dignitaries & celebrities, including Various Heads of State, Robert De Niro, Michael Jordan, Charlize Theron, Kylie Minogue, Miss India, Shilpa Shetty, among others.
